We recognize that human resources are an extremely critical asset. Hence we screen new applicants very carefully including in-person interviews and reference checks. We review each employee's performance regularly and when possible promote from within.

We strive to hire people who are flexible, have a solid work ethic, and work well in a team environment. We recruit employees by newspaper help-wanted advertising, employment agencies. We do initial screening by telephone, conduct in-person interviews, have candidates complete an application form and provide references. We perform a 7-year criminal background check for felony and misdemeanor convictions. Prospective employees are required to pass a 5 panel drug test.

Building a sense of teamwork among all personnel is an essential component for the success of the business. Teamwork encompasses not only D & A employees but also client employees. Our people are shown the importance of satisfying the needs of the receiver or checker. By allocating significant time and resources to staff training, we expect to increase every employee's ability to create a positive change in the workplace. Key managers take part in developing and reviewing training materials and deliver training sessions where appropriate.

Through teamwork, training, continuous client contact, competitive rates, and hands-on management we strive to develop long lasting partnerships with our clients that are a win-win for all involved.

After 10 successful years in warehouse operations in the grocery and food service industry, Danny Brinegar established D & A Lumper Service, in 1994. D & A is proudly servicing 3 warehouses in Texas, one in Arkansas, and one in Louisiana, having over 90 employees that unload 900 trucks a week. D & A's management team was hand select based upon their past experience and expertise in warehouse and unloading operations.

D & A Lumper specializes in providing professional unloading services to the warehouse and trucking industry. We also provide many different services for our customers some of which are sanitation, painters, will call and driver helpers. One of the services that make us stand out from other lumper services is our hotshot service. D & A Delivery is a hotshot service that we provide for some of our Customers. D & A Delivery enables the customer to ship product on our hotshot vans to their customers that need product due to ordering or warehouse errors at an affordable rate. Our customers find these services helpful in expediting all their warehouse duties. Our experience in handling LTL's and Rail-Cars has expedited the movement of freight across the docks. In general our customers have seen a reduction in in-house personnel needed for the unloading process.


Presently both the warehouses and trucking companies utilize our services. Negotiations and transaction between D & A and the trucking companies do not in anyway involve the distribution center. D & A Lumper is fully insured for workman's compensation insurance and general liability. Distribution centers have turned to us to eliminate independent street lumpers who are not covered by insurance or contracted services that in each case grossly overcharge the trucking companies.
